Father of Nicko's Fine Foods Owner Dies at 80
James Liakos's funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013.
The diner opened decades ago, and has since served Greek-inspired fare to customers in a vintage building on North Florida Avenue in Seminole Heights.
On July 19, James Liakos, father of diner owner Nick Liakos, died. He was 80.
Liakos was born in Greece, and moved to Chicago in 1951, according to an obituary on the Blount & Curry website.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 24.
Customers offered condolences on the Facebook fan page for the restaurant, 4603 N. Florida Avenue.
"Nick, Dee and the entire Nicko's family, I send my sincerest condolences on the passing of your father "Jo Jo," wrote Mauricio Rosas.
