Youth Artwork on Display in Children's Board Lobby

Local students who collaborated with a Sulphur Springs-based organization that mentors kids through the arts are getting an opportunity to show off their work to the Tampa Bay community.

An opening reception for "THINK eARTh" will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. today at the Children's Board in Ybor City.

The exhibit, available for view through October, displays environmental learning with art using recycling principles, creating items from worn out CD's, plastic and old bottles from kids aged 6-12.

Sigrid Tidmore, executive director of Community Stepping Stones, said her organization worked with the kids - who attend the Tampa Housing Authority's Oaks at Riverview Community Center - to put on the show.

"CSS teaches these classes throughout the year," she said. "CSS also teaches classes for teens after school during the school year."
