2013 COSTUME CABARET

PRESS RELEASE

The Howard W. Blake School of the Arts’ Costume Design
Department proudly presents its 2013 Fashion Show – COSTUME CABARET on February
6th (Wednesday) and 7th (Thursday) at 7:00 PM on the Main Stage.  This year’s audience will get the
backstage treatment!  Enter through the
Backstage Door to your seats ON stage for our cabaret-style production.

An all-new script written for original characters was
created by the Costume Design majors.  It is a musical production with some of your favorite songs from cabaret shows, with a ‘Cirque due Soleil’  flair.  The Costume Design Department will present more original designs this year than in any of its previous shows.  And for those who want to bring these original designs home, select items will be available for Silent Auction at the Theatre Lobby.  Videos of the process, with a word from every student involved, will begin each Act.  Some of the student designers from the Tampa Bay area include Taylor Burke, Anna-Judite Vegtel, Elixa Anzures, Ashley Mancini, and Noel Barnes.  Ms. Barnes’ one-of-a-kind prom dress design made it to the Top 10 winners of the David’s Bridal and Seventeen Magazine 2012 competition held nationwide.
