8.25 Million Dollar Taxpayer Money Give-Away

NIMBY:  Not in My Back YardPosted on December 3, 2012 at 10:18 pm

Many people believe that if it doesn't happen in their backyard, it does not affect them.  Think again.  This Wednesday, Dec. 5th, the Board of County Commissioners are going to vote  8.25 million dollars to a developer to improve the roads so Bass Pro Shops will build a big box retail store, a retail store that will force small local business out.  The BOCC talks about how they want to lure high paying jobs to the area so why are they supporting a proposal for dead end, low-paying retail jobs?  I am tired of giving my tax money to a few wealthy developers so they can make a larger profit.  If you agree with me, e-mail the BOCC at hillsboroughcounty.org. As usual, the county has made the website unuser friendly.  So at the website, there is a button on the left that says: contact commissioners.  When that website comes up hit all the commissioners to send an e-mail to.  The BOCC will decide this issue on Wednesday, Dec. 5th, so send e-mail ASAP!
