Want to Learn Calligraphy?

The Life Enrichment Center is registering now for a Calligraphy Workshop for adults. Award winning artist Minnette Webster will teach students in a small group setting. The workshop is open to all levels, beginning to experienced. Students will complete a finished piece during the session.

In this class, students will learn the five “hands” in calligraphy: Single stroke, Roman, Manuscript Italic, Cursive Italic, Modified Chauncery Cursive, and Gothic or Black Letter. Additionally, the following will be introduced: borders, line finished, papers to use in calligraphy, spacing, placement on lines, and exciting and unusual techniques. 

The calligraphy workshop will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Classes meet at the Life Enrichment Center, 9704 North Boulevard, Tampa.  Cost for the 2-hour workshop is $25, including supplies.

This workshop is part of Life Enrichment Center’s new fall series of Thursday Afternoon Art Workshops, with a different topic and teacher each week, Future workshops will include collage, printing without a press/monoprints, Sumi-e Asian brush painting, acrylics and oils, miniatures, digital photography, watercolor and pen, cartooning for adults, and more.
