Painting Workshop Offered at LEC

This just in from officials at the Life Enrichment Center:

The Life Enrichment Center is registering now for a new workshop for adults, Sumi-e Asian Brush Painting. Award winning artist Susan McKay will teach students in a small group setting. The workshop is open to all levels, from beginning to experienced. Students will complete a finished piece during the session.

Artists who paint in other styles have found it helpful to learn the strokes and brush control in Sumi-e painting. Learn how a few simple strokes can turn into a bird, flower, leaf, or bamboo. The course will be taught by Susan McKay. 

This workshop will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.  Classes meet at the Life Enrichment Center, 9704 North Boulevard, Tampa.  Cost for the 2-hour workshop is $25, including supplies.

This workshop is part of Life Enrichment Center’s new fall series of Thursday Afternoon Art Workshops, with a different topic and teacher each week, Future workshops will include collage, printing without a press/monoprints, calligraphy, acrylics and oils, miniatures, digital photography, watercolor and pen, cartooning for adults, and more.
