MOSI Events Include Gaming Tournament, Food Truck Rally

Gamers Invited To MOSI’s Press Play, Powered By Verizon Fios On Nov. 4, 10 And 11

MOSI and Verizon FiOS have joined forces to host Press Play, a video gaming expo, during the first two weekends in November. Press Play will take place in MOSI’s newly renovated inventors’ laboratory, Idea Zone. Participants will be using Verizon’s FiOS Quantum 150/65 mbps speed tier, which is ideal for gamers because the connection is virtually lag free. Press Play is included with general admission to MOSI, but gamers who pre-register for the Nov. 4 event will receive free admission.

On Nov. 4, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., gamers can participate in the Madden 13 qualification rounds. Finalists will compete for prizes and bragging rights in the final round on Nov. 11. Tournament finalists will receive FREE admission to the final round.

On Nov. 10 – 11, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., gamers will compete against local gamers and experts from around the world to win prizes, experience the latest in gaming technology, and hang with fellow gamers. Game designers from ARTIX Entertainment, a local gaming software company, will be available to answer questions and mentor aspiring designers.

Food Trucks Return To MOSI For A Special Edition Of MOSI After Dark On Nov. 16

What: Food Truck Rally, as a part of its MOSI After Dark event series

When: Friday, Nov. 16, from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Admission: Free

MOSI is hosting a food truck rally as a part of its MOSI After Dark event series on Friday, Nov. 16, from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to try food from the area's coolest food trucks, enjoy great games and music, and experience MOSI at night. Admission to the Food Truck Rally is free. For an additional fee, guests can conquer MOSI’s Sky Trail® Ropes Course and Zip Line in the dark, and check out Ian Fleming’s James Bond in Skyfall on Florida’s only IMAX DOME Theatre. MOSI’s general exhibits will feature discounted pricing during this special event. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 813-987-6000.
