Adorable Adoptable: Pugzy the Pug

Just look at this 2-year-old pug's face and try to deny his allure.

Hi! I’m Pugzy! Strangers stop me on the street and ask if I am a show pug due to my textbook flat face, petite body, dark mask, bushy curled tail and distinctive wrinkles.

I’m in excellent health, micro-chipped, neutered, and up-to-date on all my shots. I’m 2-years-old, approx 13 inches high and weigh 22 pounds.

I love to run in the yard, play with my toys, and nap on the couch. I also enjoy car rides, especially if I can sit on your lap. My story is a common one; I was surrendered because they had to take care of a baby and grandma too, and it was too much so they did what was best for me.

In my foster home, I have lots of other pugs to play with, but I would love to be someone’s only baby again. I would do well with kids, and maybe other animals like cats.

This summer, I’ve been going to Camp Bow Wow where the folks say I play well with others. At home, I would love to climb on your lap and cuddle. I’m crate trained, but I would be very happy to sleep in your bed at night if you want me to! If you’re looking for a cute, playful and cuddly companion, then I’m the one for you.

Did you know that the name “pug” came from Latin meaning fist? That’s because a pug’s head can look like a closed fist, and mine certainly does! I also have a little under bite which means my cute pink tongue sticks out.

Pugzy is being fostered by a resident in Seminole Heights. His adoption fee is $350. For more information, an adoption application and to see other pugs, visit pugrescueofflorida.org.
