5 Things You Can Do With Your Family This Weekend

Patch brings you a selection of this weekend's best offerings for outings with your family.

This weekend's list includes a 10-mile bike ride, a farmers market, mechanical dinosaurs and working with worms!

SATURDAY

  • The is holding its intermediate ride Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. The 10-mile ride leaves from the Seminole Heights Garden Center and includes a coffee stop along the way.
  • Saturday is the fifth anniversary for Tampa Clean City Day — a citywide initiative to keep the city litter free. Volunteers are needed to assist in all areas of the city. Locally, the Tampa Heights Junior Civic Association is participating from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the site of its new youth and community center at the corner of Palm and Lamar avenues. After the cleanup, volunteers are invited to Raymond James Stadium for a celebration with food and live entertainment from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
  • What kid doesn't love dinosaurs? Indulge their prehistoric fantasies with a trip to the Lowry Park Zoo's DinoQuest: A Jurassic Journey.
  • : Whitwam Organics is teaching a class at Café Hey downtown at 10:30 a.m. Learn to build a worm bin for your garden for under $30 and have fun getting your hands dirty.

  • The returns this month from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature a Fit Kids Playground for families to enjoy. There also will be a cooking demonstration by local Whole Foods Chef Annalysa Khaw and massage therapy and yoga classes from Jai Dee Yoga and Wellness Studio.
