5 Things to Know Today

Here's Tuesday's roundup of events, information and trivia.

  1. No rain! We've got a sunny forecast, so open up your windows and let some fresh air in.
  2. You can get involved in helping Central Tampa's greenspace initiative, The Green Artery, by coming to tonight's meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Ragan Park Community Center, 1200 E. Lake Ave.  There will be an update to the Tampa Greenways and Trails Master Plan and a "sharrow" presentation on road sharing. Food and drinks provided.
  3. Soccer training is now offered for youths aged 5 through 16 years with Coach Charles Zapata at Henry and Ola Park. Register your child online with the City of Tampa's Parks and Recreation website.
  4. Three new K-9s are joining the Tampa Police Department today thanks to donations.  The new recruits include two Bloodhound puppies and a German Sheppard patrol dog.
  5. After today, there's just one more day to sign up for the first annual chili cook off at the , which will be held this Sunday.  Break out your seasonings and sign up by Wednesday!
