  1. Federal tax returns are due to be filed with the IRS by midnight tonight.
  2. Today’s weather in Central Tampa will be mostly sunny, 88 degrees with a slight chance for rain.
  3. If your home sits in South Seminole Heights (south of Hillsborough Avenue, north of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, west of Interstat3 275 and east of the Hillsborough River), then this is your SWEEP week! Put unwanted furniture, appliances and large fixtures on the curb for pick up by the city. Check the City of Tampa's SWEEP calendar for other upcoming neighborhoods.
  4. Patch wants your nominations for of the week. We want to highlight great kids doing great things.
  5. The Great San Francisco Earthquake occurred on this day in 1906. Rating 8.0 on the Richter scale, the quake was caused by a slip of the San Andreas Fault. It toppled numerous buildings and sparked fires that devastated the city. About 3,000 people died as a result of the quake.
