- Kitty: "The neighbors near the river get to enjoy the peacocks who grace our neighborhood. Here are the peahens out for a stroll. If you have not ever heard peacocks — they make a sound similar to what you might imagine a terrified banshee might make. On the afternoon of the big storm [earlier this month], two males were perched up on the short carport wall of a neighbor's house. A tree had been knocked down over the driveway. As I passed, the peacocks shrieked. It was an eerie moment."
