5 Things to Know This Weekend

Here's the weekend's roundup of events and information.

SATURDAY

  • The is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Centennial Park, 1800 E. 8th Ave. Visit this weekly market to find fresh baked goods, coffees and teas, jellies, gourmet foods, herbs, honey, fine cigars, books, artwork, jewelry, candles, bath and body products, and more.
  • Bring your kids to the at the Glazer Children's Museum, 110 W. Gasparilla Plaza. This daylong event begins at 9 a.m. and combines live entertainment for children including karaoke, crafts, face painting and a balloon artist with informative workshops for parents on topics such as dental safety, fingerprinting, private schools, tutors, child-care, tutors, and after-school programs. The first 150 children will receive a tote bag filled with school supplies!!!
  • Need a good laugh? Come out to enjoy An Evening with Coco Peru, one of the Original Drag Queens of Comedy at 6:30 p.m. at Hamburger Mary's, 1600 E. 7th Ave. in Ybor City.

SUNDAY

  • Common Ground Christian Church, 4207 N. Boulevard, is holding at 2 p.m. Join church volunteers as they stuff backpacks with free school supplies for every student attending Broward Elementary in Seminole Heights.
  • Enjoy the Tampa Theatre's Summer Classics Series with a screening of "" at 3 p.m. at 711 N. Franklin St.
