P.F. Chang's at Countryside Mall Now Hiring

The restaurant is looking to fill a number of positions before its tentative opening March 4.

Sheri Zippo has opened many P.F. Chang's restaurants across the country.

The operating partner of the Westfield Countryside Mall location has worked at the Tampa restaurant for more than four years. But she really feels a buzz about the latest restaurant, tentatively planned to open March 4.

"It's coming along so nicely" Zippo said. "It really has a cool feel."

In preparation for the opening, P.F. Chang's is hiring full and part-time employees, including servers, cooks and bartenders, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday at the Clarion Inn, 20967 U.S. 19 N.

Positions include servers, bartenders, back waiters, take out servers, host and hostesses, and back of the house, culinary side, wok cooks, prep cooks, dish washers and pantry cooks.

The restaurant, which has locations throughout the country and internationally, is the first in Pinellas County. The nearest P.F. Chang's is located at West Shore Plaza in Tampa.

This one is unlike any other, Zippo said.

"I call the restaurant chic," Zippo said.

It has a wall of nano glass doors that can be opened to give an outdoor ambiance. There is detailed woodwork inside and out.

Zippo said it will feature a majority of booth seating, a round bar and private dining area. It also is a test store so it there are some different menu items in addition to the regular fare. Employees wear different uniforms than other stores as well.

It is the final destination dining option to fill out the mall's restaurant row.

Already there are a BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse, Grimaldi's, Red Robin and Bar Louie.

"It completes the area," Zippo said. "It definitely pops out."

I think there is also a sister company - Pei-Wei - that is already in St Pete

You are correct Dan. Evidently it is a fast casual/express offshoot of the parent company.

I believe this is the same PF Changs that my daughter worked for in Canton OH when she was younger?! If this is so (the signage looks the same) then I am so pleased they have prospered and found their way from the cold north to sunny FL.
