Local Offers Small Biz Suggestions

New Port Richey resident Sherry Stamback has some suggestions on where you can spend.

Doing some shopping?

New Port Richey resident Sherry Stamback has some recommendations for small businesses that folks can check out. She’s making suggestions on her Facebook page.

Stamback is an artist and business owner in New Port Richey. She’s also known as “Spellbinding Sherry,” and she runs “Spellbinding Intuitive Services.”

“I do believe that spending money in small businesses is a great investment in community,” she said on Facebook. “To the best of my ability I SHOP SMALL (businesses) whenever possible.”

It’s the holiday season. Black Friday is on the horizon. Small Business Saturday, sponsored by American Express, is this Saturday, Nov. 25.

Stamback shared her wisdom on Small Business Saturday:

Of the ‘Small Business Saturday’, which a particular credit card company has put themselves behind, I am of two views. First, of course, support small business as often as possible, including this coming Saturday. Second though, I believe the use of said credit card to do so would be sabotaging the entire concept. Use cash or use a debit card, which is only backed up by one's own checking/savings account. Every day is a Small Business day.

Here are some of Stamback’s recommendations. Many offer their wares online (she has her own style of writing and formatting we’ve preserved when it comes to listing her recommendations):

Shop Small; spend your money where your <3 is.
Alex Tiegen November 23, 2012 at 03:43 PM
Hi there, We included those shops because they were on the list of suggestions were pilling from, and we also weren't restricting these suggestions to just local businesses, considering shoppers do go outside the community
Alex Tiegen November 24, 2012 at 01:22 AM
Thank you for the suggestion!
