Front Porch Celebrates 10 Years

The Front Porch Grill & Bar celebrated 10 years in business on Saturday night with the opening of its new outdoor bar.

Over the last decade, the Seminole Heights restaurant scene has exploded thanks to committed business owners like Pat Pupura.

It was a decade ago that Pupura opened on Florida Avenue, and since that time he's grown a solid base of regular customers organically and developed a reputation for fresh made, quality cuisine. In celebrating the anniversary this past Saturday, the Front Porch also celebrated the culmination of a long-term project, the construction of an outdoor bar area.

"The outside bar has been a project we've been working on for five of the 10 years we've been open," bar manager Mike McDuffie said. "That was a big deal. We had three bands, karaoke, a free keg of beer for the first hour, and we served barbeque instead of a normal menu."

Over McDuffie's two years with the company, he has seen the restaurant continue its growth despite the addition of several restaurants to the Seminole Heights area.

"Pat has made it through being the only restaurant around here to a time when now you have , , the , the and all these other places popping up. He's made it work and outlived a lot of concepts that came and went."
