North Florida Avenue shop to welcome Fauna brand products that can be used by humans and pets alike. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Alexis Saunders Animal Health Center at the Humane Society.

If it’s good enough for pets, it’s good enough for you, too.

That’s the idea behind the line of Fauna brand products for pets and people that in Seminole Heights is now stocking. To help welcome the shampoo, baby shampoo, conditioner and insect/flea repellant – and to help raise money for animals – Cleanse Apothecary is holding

“It’s going to be a fun night,” said Cleanse’s Gregory Curtis. “You will be in a store that’s filled with products that make u feel good, including new products that are good for you and your pet.”

The event will include champagne, wine, edibles from a new business opening called Fitlife Foods and raffles.  A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to the Alexis Saunders Animal Health Center at the Humane Society – a Bark in the Park event.

Fauna Products is a Santa Monica, California-based company that uses essential oils and plant extracts in its products that are safe for both humans and their four-legged friends. According to the Fauna Products website, owner Renee Garacochea was driven to create the line after being unable to find a good shampoo for her dog.

“Renee discovered that most pet shampoos were either too dangerous with a warning label: 'Harmful To Humans And Domestic Animals,' or they were just not effective,” the site reads.

So she experimented, and eventually created the Fauna line.

“All the products possess active healing properties, as well as aromatherapeutic elements that heighten sensory stimulation yet soothes and calms the soul; thus leaving you and your pet with the ultimate bathing experience every time,” the site says in its description.

As of Wednesday evening, there were about 50 people who RSVP’d for the Cleanse Apothecary event, but Curtis expects several more to register.

Cleanse Apothecary, at 5127 North Florida Ave., carries a variety of luxury body, bath and home products, including natural-ingredient items and handmade soaps.
