Old Seminole Heights Home Tour

The Old Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association (OSHNA) and the Old Seminole Heights Preservation Consortium (OSHPC) proudly present the 13th Annual Old Seminole Heights Home Tour.

One home featured on last year’s tour as a shell of its original will be featured this year completely updated, with all of its historic charm intact. The goal of the 2011 Home Tour is to showcase our beautiful and historic neighborhood, and to share with others how vintage historic structures can be adapted to 21st century living. Restoration can be the most economical and environmentally friendly building method for today’s economic climate.

The 2011 Home Tour will begin at 11:30 a.m. on April 3 at the beautifully restored , 5800 North Central Avenue. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Drive, walk or bicycle through the tree-lined streets of this beautiful urban neighborhood.  Trolleys will be available at the Garden Center and will make stops along the tour.

Advanced ticket sales  are $10 at two locations: , 5127 N. Florida Ave., and , 7410 N. Nebraska Ave. 

Tickets are also available on the OSHNA website, www.oldseminoleheights.org.

Tickets will be $15 if purchased the day of the tour. Last tickets will be sold at 3:30 p.m. on the day of the tour.

Advance ticket holders will need to exchange their tickets or vouchers for a Tour-ID wrist band at the Garden Center the day of the tour. You will also receive a booklet with information about the homes and map for the tour including the safest bicycle route.

A portion of the proceeds from the tour will be allocated to Meals on Wheels and to the restoration of one of Seminole Heights’ springs. Remainder proceeds will support various OSHNA neighborhood projects such as new trees along Central Avenue in front of and new goal posts for the citywide Soccer Field at .
