Get Out: Weekend Events Preview July 27-29

Here is a look at some things to do around town this weekend.

When/where: 5132 North Florida Avenue, tonight at 6 p.m.

Why go? Tempus Projects is a local artist-run project space based in a converted garage on North Florida Avenue in Seminole Heights. The location works to promote artists working in all media and offers all types of exhibitions, shows and events for the community, including from regional, local and national artists. Enjoy the work of local artists at this third-annual competition.

When/where: 4711 North Central Avenue, Saturday at 8 a.m.

Why go? The library hosts its last book sale before closing for the new facility to be built, officials say. Bring any books you'd like to donate to the library beforehand. Call for further details about donations.

Why go? Explore the yogic approach to stress management. You will learn to understand stress and how to relive it, build a foundation of inner steadiness, cope with stress as it arises and how to respond, not react, to situations. Go on a journey through a step by step process of experiential learning that will include stretching, relaxation, breathing, and concentration that leads to a more peaceful way of living that you are able to recreate.

Why go? The children's museum celebrates the 30th Summer Olympic Games. Learn about different sports, participate in relays, and take part in games and challenges.

Why go? Instructor Jim Reiman introduces students to the exciting world of iPhone photography. He'll share his favorite apps and gadgets to help unlock the possibilities of this incredibly versatile portable camera.
