Construction Projects Slow Traffic in Seminole Heights

One of the projects will continue until fall, according to state transportation officials.

Construction projects along I-275 and Florida Avenue slowed traffic on Tuesday morning in the Seminole Heights area as state transportation officials worked on road improvement projects.

The first of two projects is a Florida Department of Transportation construction project at Sligh Avenue and I-275 that slowed traffic on the right lane of the interstate.

The second project, which closed the right lane on Florida Avenue near Hillsborough Avenue on Tuesday, began in the spring, said David Botello, spokesman for FDOT.

"They'll be resurfacing Florida Avenue there, installing signs and drainage," he said. "That's slated to go on for the better part of the summer. They'll be resurfacing until the fall from Violet to Sligh."
