Community's Help Sought to Help Save Dog's Life
Blaze has prostate cancer and his owner cannot afford to pay the $6,000 needed for his treatment.
Following a reassuring visit to the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine with her Keeshond, Blaze, Seminole Heights resident Kathy Esposito-Steward is more convinced than ever that her service dog can be cured of prostate cancer.
However, the treatment comes with a high price.
Steward, who was recently laid off from her job, needs an estimated $6,000 to $8,000 to treat her 8-year-old dog. So she is turning to the community for help.

Her son has set up a "Please Help Save Blaze" website to accept donations for the dog's treatment. All funds raised will go directly to the dog's medical costs. To date, $1,113 has been donated.
Blaze is more than a pet. Steward has battled severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder for years, and Blaze is instrumental in helping her cope with the panic attacks that can arise at a moment's notice.

"He's my comfort, my shadow, my Velcro dog," said Steward.
