Local Nonprofit to Give Tampa Bay Children Memorable Christmas

Lower income families will have the opportunity to shop for toys, gadgets and gizmos for their children, at one-tenth of their original retail cost this Christmas season. Tampa nonprofit, Current of Tampa Bay Inc., will hold its annual Affordable Christmas event on Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Crossover Church, located at 1235 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa, FL 33612.

“During this holiday season, we want to help low income families provide a special Christmas for their children,” says Founder and President of Current, Jason Sowell. “Having families purchase items rather than taking a free handout empowers them by allowing them to make an investment in what they give to their children. This gives them great satisfaction, knowing that they could provide for their kids.”

This is Current’s second year holding an Affordable Christmas event. Toys and gifts for Affordable Christmas are being collected by donation at Crossover Church, Watermark Church and the new Starbucks of Brandon, located just off of I-75. All toys will be sold at one-tenth of their original value at Crossover Church on the morning of Dec. 7.
