One will be in Tampa. It ill start at in downtown Tampa. Please gather at 6:30 p.m. and the ride will start promptly at 7 p.m. Seminole Heights bicyclists will leave the Garden Center on Central Avenue at 6 p.m. to participate in the Tampa Ride of Silence.

Tonight, there is also a Dunedin/Clearwater Ride of Silence, which will start at the Publix shopping center at Curlew and Alt. 19. Also, please gather at 6:30 p.m. and the ride will start promptly at 7 p.m.. That ride will have a ghost bike secured in the back of a pickup truck.

The Ride of Silence is a national event where bicyclists ride today to memorialize the lives of bicyclists killed by car drivers. Bicyclists ride slowly and silently in these rides across the country.

There have been nine bicyclists killed in Hillsborough County since December.
