Come join us as we ride leisurely along shady streets, and city bike paths touring Seminole Heights, Ybor City, Channelside, Harbor Island and downtown Tampa. Our return will follow the Hillsborough River through Riverside Heights, Tampa Heights and South Seminole Heights. We'll return to enjoy breakfast and, perhaps, some shopping, at the Seminole Heights Sunday Morning Market at Hillsborough High School. Secured bicycle parking is provided at the Market, courtesy of the Seminole Heights Bicycle Club. This is a great ride for novice riders or those new to Tampa. This is a Tour, not a race, so our pace will be around 10-14 mph for a total distance of about 16 miles. More information is located at www.tampabaysundaybicycle.blogspot.com.

Founded in 1927 as one of seven city libraries, Seminole Heights Branch Library is located on the corner of Osborn and Central Avenues. It is frequented by neighborhood families and many students from Memorial Middle School and Hillsborough High School, which are across the street.

The current facility was dedicated in 1965. A new facility has been budgeted for $7.3 million and construction is expected to begin as early as 2011. The branch's Friends of the Library group holds regular book sales and works with the neighborhood associations as advocates for the library.
