SWFBUD, the alliance of Tampa Bay bicycle shops, was proud to be part a group of professionals and other supporters of the Friendship TrailBridge that helped convince the Hillsborough County Commissioners to NOT demolish the beloved 2.6-mile FTB that connects Tampa and St. Petersburg.

SWFBUD thanks County Commissioners Mark Sharpe, Kevin Beckner and Victor Crist who led the charge to stop demolition plans of the FTB and instead were part of a 7-0 vote to delay demolition and instead look at other options of saving the FTB or building a new bike/pedestrian bridge.

Group organizers Ken Thurman and Ken Cowart led the way for the FTB supporters, who included several Seminole Heights residents such as Margaret Shepherd of the Seminole Heights Bicycle Club.
