Did You Lose a Dog Saturday January 19?

Have you lost your dog? Last night (Saturday January 19) about 8:45 p.m. there was a tan male dog going up and down North River Boulevard from Osbourne to W. Violet. He first came up to me when I was walking my two dogs. He did not have a collar on but was friendly. I ran mine home to grab a leash and some doggie cookies because I was afraid he would get hit since he kept crossing North River Boulevard going from the park side to yards on the other side. Then he kept going into Rivercrest Park and then back on the sidewalk. I tried for an hour and a half to get him but he would turn and go a different way. So I went back home and brought one of my dogs back out thinking that would attract him but he then headed west on Osbourne to where the sharp turn is onto N. Boulevard. I believe he was a mini pinscher. I went back out in the car from 11:oo p.m. until midnight driving around to see if I could find him with no luck.  I did my best and hopefully whoever lost him will see this and at least have an idea where he was tonight.  I have dogs of my own and would be heartbroken to lose one.  If you know anyone who has a dog like this and it is missing please tell them that he was in this area - it might give them a place to start.  I also put this on the Seminole Heights Patch facebook page.

I ran into a couple this morning walking their dogs in Rivercrest Park who saw the same dog last night about 7:45 p.m. when returning from dinner. It was running in the park at the time they saw it. That was an hour before I saw it. They said they wondered if it was a Basinji and said they have someone who lives near them that has Basinjis. I asked them to touch base with whoever they were talking about to see if any of their dogs was missing and to tell them where and when he had been spotted. He was all medium tan and had pointed erect medium ears. I can't remember what his tail looked like. He was well cared for and very clean. He was a bit muscular and was about 18 inches tall. Just in case I got the Mini Pin wrong it could be a Basingi. I think Mini Pins have to be black with tan on them. I also drove all over the neighborhood (South Seminole Heights) with a leash in my car hoping to see him...no luck. Also there were no Lost Dog signs up yet. I know it would be very upsetting to me if I lost a dog. I decided last night that I will always have a leash on my person when walking the neighborhood and have one in the car as well - just in case. I was so worried he would get hit since he was running back and forth across N. River Blvd. Last time this happened with a gorgeous Aussie, he came over to me and I was able to call his owner since he had a tag with her number on it. Since he had a collar on I was also able to hold him until she came and got him.
