The building at 4230 North Florida Avenue has sat empty for some time in South Seminole Heights, a half block north of some of the areas more exciting establishments.
With Cold Storage Craft Brewery sitting just blocks from this piece of property owned by the Bali Bay Trading Company, which sits right next door, the building could be a key part of the ongoing rejuvenation of Florida Avenue as a business district.
The 4,500 square foot building is more than 50 years old and is currently available for rent, sitting on the opposite side of Florida Avenue from a historic district and currently listed as a warehouse with the city.
So, we want to know: What do you wish were at this location. Tell us in the comments section below.

A nice neighborhood hardware store. If you live in an old house, you go to the hardware store. A lot.

The space would be perfect for a hardware store, or any kind of retail store. Anyone interested contact us at Bali Bay Trading Company.

Karen, I thought that you were against a Family Dollar? It is had for me to process some of the people trying to keep out a retail store. What caused so many of you to change from what you were back in the heady days of your artist youth?

Here's my take: regardless of what u hear on the news business is good and most businesses are doing much better than let's say 2009. The dollar is strong overseas and gold and silver have stabilized at $28/1610. There is a high demand for goods and services and inflation is low. Commodities are relatively stable and speculation is curbed. I would expect a spike in business development as a result and if u look around the market is moving... Case in point...on Florida ave we already see several new business either opening or reinventing themselves some we like some we hate regardless they are taken together revitalizing the area. Ideally I would like to see an art shop/antique shop or food processor like a coffee roasting operation, caterer or screen processing etc ... I think now is the time as I would expect rents to escalate as remodeling in the area is begining

So much THIS! We are about to see more interest and more growth and rents are going to go up. How long before the rents are too high and a new business has two options- either serve the lowest common denominator to insure income which usually means opening a bar or go for the exclusive market and specialize in upscale 'status' products and services. Either way we as residents will loose unless we work together to have a say in the development of our home.

I would like to see one of two things: another nice restaurant since in the past we had to travel elsewhere to get a decent meal or a specialty type garden shop like Bloom in South Tampa. A lot of us have one or more garden areas on our property and like to put in various artistic pieces or unusual plants.

I vote for a nice grocery store like a Fresh Market. Land and Sea, or Whaley's!!!
