"What Do You Recommend?" is an occasional feature that asks Patch readers to weigh in on their favorite menu items at local restaurants and bars.
Whether it's 4 a.m. or dinner time, nearly everyone who calls themselves a Tampan has been to Taco Bus on Hillsborough Avenue.
The bus converted to full kitchen has become a legendary fixture in the Tampa Bay area, opening up other locations in downtown, St. Petersburg and Fletcher Avenue. Fresh, properly seasoned ingredients still carry the homemade flair that has made this staple of the Tampa diet famous over the years.
From an arm's length breakfast burrito to ceviche and fish tacos, the Taco Bus is home to some of the best Mexican food this side of the Gulf of Mexico and boasts a line throughout at the night outside of its window to prove it.
So we want to know: What do you recommend at Taco Bus? If someone's visiting for the first time, what do they HAVE to try? Post your menu picks in the comment section below.

Fish Tacos. Oh my, the fish tacos sound so good right now. But that breakfast burrito is no joke. Good way to spend a Sunday morning.

The butternut squash tostada is unique and delicious! Order two and maybe some rice and beans and you are all set. Love them!
