1. Hillsborough High Football Star Talks Recruitment With ESPN.com

Jordan Sherit, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound junior for the Terriers, told the website he's entertaining offers from Notre Dame, Stanford, Miami, Oklahoma and USF in particular, "because they are really making that extra effort to keep in touch with me."

2. Police: Robbery Suspect, 16, Fatally Shot by Store Owner

Police said 16-year-old Quintavius Antonio Moore pointed a handgun at the owner of Baker's Mini Mart at 2504 N Armenia Ave. Taquanda Shanti Baker, 31, pulled her own handgun and fatally shot Moore. 

3. Tampa Heights Man Found Shot to Death in North Tampa Parking Lot

Sergio Gabriel Alexande Smith, 21, of 109 Emily St., was found shot to death in the parking lot of Avesta Apartments at 2020 E. 131st Ave. Nearby surveillance cameras took photos of several people who "might have seen or heard something that could be beneficial to the case," sheriff's office spokesperson Debbie Carter said in a media release.

4. Best Customer Service in Seminole Heights Contest: The Final 4

The Canadian DrugstoreReservations Gourmet to GoThe Milk n' Honey Tea Room and Gift Shop, and Sherry's Yesterdaze Vintage Clothing and Antiques were left standing after earlier voting whittled away 28 other local businesses in Patch's readers' poll.
