A 47-year-old man was arrested today on sexual battery and kidnapping charges  in connection with a case involving a 14-year-old boy, according to the Tampa Police Department.

The boy was walking home when Steven James Taylor, 47, lured him to a shed near an alleyway, authorities said. Taylor then forced the boy into the shed, pinned him down and assaulted him, authorities said.

The boy escaped after a struggle and ran south on Nebraska Avenue, flagging down a patrol officer to report the incident, authorities said.

Officers found Taylor shortly afterward at the location of the incident, 911 E. 28th Avenue.

The investigation is ongoing.
