48-Hour Boil Notice For City Water Customers in Seminole Heights

A power outage at the city’s main water treatment plant is to blame for the recommended precaution.

Seminole Heights residents who get their water from the city are being asked to boil their water for at least the next 48 hours.

A power outage at the City of Tampa’s David L. Tippin Water Treatment Facility is the reason for the extra precautions. The outage has caused a temporary low pressure problem for some Tampa Water Department Customers and a complete loss of service for others, according to the city’s website.

Tampa Electric Co. and city crews are both onsite working to resolve the power outage.

More details about the outage and boil water notice will be posted on the city’s website as developments occur.

Stay with Seminole Heights Patch for updates as they become available.

This is pitiful, if you are from out of state, how are you suppose to know if your area is in the boil notice? Is Largo in the boil notice? I am not well and would not like to increase my problems with bad water.

No only city of tampa water customers. Its a precaution due to loss of power because the Rule makes them do the notice. The water was already treated so i would worry about it but to be safe boil it to drink
