Nude Nite Returns to Tampa Tonight
The three-night adult-themed art event will take place in a warehouse in East Ybor.
Nude Nite, a three-night adult art event, will kick off in an East Ybor warehouse Thursday, March 1.
“Galleries, art festivals and fairs shy away or refuse from showing nudes,” said art show organizer Kelly Stevens. “Nude Nite dares to show what others will not.”
A celebration of the body beautiful, this seductive extravaganza started back in 1997, when a group of Orlando artists tried to increase attendance at art shows by putting up nudes in what Stevens defined as “a weak attempt to increase interest.”
It worked.
More than a decade later, Tampa also was entertained lavishly with its first annual Nude Nite in 2009. Last year's event was held in Tampa Heights.
Expect adult-themed artwork from local and national photographers, painters and sculptures, as well as a queer cast of strolling characters and sensual performers “to inspire us,” said Stevens.
