Metropolitan Ministries Serving Meals to Homeless on Thanksgiving

Families are served at 11 a.m., and singles are served at 12:30 p.m., and more than 450 homeless families and individuals will be served at the holiday tent.

Officials at Metropolitan Ministries are planning to serve hundreds of families in need during their Thanksgiving holiday feast on Thursday afternoon.

At 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, the staff will begin the preparations to serve hot Thanksgiving meals to more than 450 homeless families at the holiday tent on the nation’s day of thanks, according to a news release from spokesman David Bledsoe.

This year, Metropolitan Ministries is working with the Salvation Army to transform its holiday tent at 400 West Palm Avenue into a welcoming banquet, providing comfort and a hot meal for hundreds of people in need, according to the release.

Families will be served at the tent starting at 11 a.m., and individuals will be served at 12:30 p.m.

No pre-registration is required, Bledsoe said.
