Low-Flying Helicopters Patrolling TECO's Transmission Structures

The patrolling begins on Monday, Jan. 28.

 

If you spot a low-flying helicopter near a Tampa Electric transmission pole over the next few weeks, don't panic. The company is conducting inspections of their transmission equipment, according to a news release from TECO.

The work begins on Monday, Jan. 28 at 8 a.m., and will continue for 30 days. The inspections are only during daylight hours, and involves crews surveying about 5,200 transmission structures, the news release said.

The project's estimated completion date is Feb. 27, the news release said.
