Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn spoke to Vice President Joe Biden last Friday at the U.S. Conference of Mayors about "the importance of investing in city infrastructure like roads, ports, airports, and bridges," his office said.

Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn got some quality time with Vice President Joe Biden and other leaders from around the country last week at the annual U.S. Conference of Mayors in Orlando.

Buckhorn told WUSF that he was interested in ideas on military, job growth, and ports and wanted to know how other cities dealt with:

  • The downsizing of the military
  • The kinds of jobs that are being created in the urban core
  • How to expand international presence in exports.

Buckhorn's office said the mayor and vice president chatted about "the importance of investing in city infrastructure like roads, ports, airports, and bridges" and released a photo (see attached) of their face-to-face.

How do you think the conversation between Buckhorn and Biden went? What do you hope they talked about, or what ideas do you hope Buckhorn came away with that will help the city of Tampa? Post your thoughts in the comments section below.
