Tampa Heights Man Found Shot to Death in North Tampa Parking Lot

Detectives investigating the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old Tampa Heights man are asking for the public's help in identifying a group of people caught on camera near the area of the homicide.
The "Eye on Crime" cameras in the area of 131st Avenue and 22nd Street in North Tampa took surveillance photos of several people who "might have seen or heard something that could be beneficial to the case," sheriff's office spokesperson Debbie Carter said in a media release.
Anyone with information about the people seen in the surveillance photos attached to this story can contact the sheriff's office at 813-247-8200.

A Tampa Heights man found dead in the parking lot of a North Tampa apartment complex was the victim of a homicide, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports.
Sergio Gabriel Alexande Smith, 21, of 109 Emily St., was found laying in the parking lot at Avesta Apartments, 2020 131st Ave. E., shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Preliminary indications are that Smith was shot, sheriff's office spokesperson Debbie Carter said in a media release.

I go by stacks and im if anything his best friend and ill tell u he was just sergio didnt start nun didnt gt in anything with the law I miss this man I gave him the best friendship I cud give tld him good advice so he stayd out of trouble smh it hurts I only seen him as a friend I can trust ..... I just got word of this and its crazy because Sergio was such a good person to me. I cared about him more than he knew. I dnt know anybody from Tampa so I wouldnt have knwn. But my cuzin called me bkuz her brother wanted to make sure I knew wat happened. Baby, I know we had our ups and downs but Lord knows u are truly missed. I wish things had been better with us before u left. Love u and we will meet again. Waych over us Mr. Smith.
